Jeju Forum for Peace & Prosperity kicks off in Jeju

The annual Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity kicked off on South Korea's southern island of Jeju on Wednesday,... where former and sitting diplomats and experts have gathered to discuss regional issues under the theme 'Asia Towards Resilient Peace.'
Amid the current impasse between Pyeongyang and Washington, the forum has sessions on how to reach a peaceful resolution to the issue, and what the prospects are for dismantling the North's nuclear program.
Seoul's nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon, former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, and former Special Envoy for the Six-Party Talks with North Korea, Ambassador Joseph DeTrani, will be among the speakers.
Other regional issues, including the future of U.S.-China relations and the Moon administration's New Southern Policy, will also be discussed.
The forum wrap ups on Friday.
