President Moon Jae-in is discussing progress on the new Ulchi Taegeuk exercise with his Cabinet members today.
According to the top office,... the meeting at the Blue House includes the defense, foreign, and unification ministers,... the presidential national security advisor and the director of the National Intelligence Service.
The exercise is a civilian-military drill combining two existing ones -- the Ulchi exercise, part of the previous South Korea-U.S. Ulchi Freedom Guardian exercise,... and the Taegeuk command post exercise led by the South Korean military.
The four-day drill aims to prepare the country against war, terrorism and natural disasters,... and ends this Thursday.
Just ahead of the meeting,... the president also presided over the National Security Council meeting to examine the exercise.
