SOAK (Ireland) talks SXSW, Italy, "Before We Forgot How To Dream" and her songwriting!
Having flown in from a 3 day stint in Italy and then Singapore, 18 year old Irish songwriter Soak is currently in Sydney for her first ever Australian tour. She stopped by the AU review HQ for a chat about her SXSW showcase, her new album and songwriting process. When asked about her travel and latest tours, she said: "We're in the middle of about to release the album so everything's been all-go... It's really exciting. I enjoy it - I'm having fun..."

Of her SXSW showcase, Soak said: "We were really lucky because our main showcase was a BBC showcase... When I came on the crowd was really good..." With her album Before We Forgot How to Dream due out later this year, we asked what to expect: "I think 'Sea Creatures' is a good representation of the album... It follows that kind of flow. It definitely has a lot of different structures in the songs than what I've shown before in singles and EPs. And there's a lot of different instrumentation that we haven't done before... Some of it's quite deep which is good."
