We at the AU review recently sat down with Tord and Dan of Liverpool’s indie-rockers, The Wombats to discuss the band's musical influences and latest album, Glitterbug (out Friday, April 3rd through Warner Music Australia).

The interview started off nostalgic, “You can’t help but hark back to the things that made you want to do music in the first place" and the band shared their greatest musical influences growing up. The pair cited Green Day, Foo Fighters, Offspring and Australia’s Silverchair as insipration: "Silverchair was huge for me,” Tord added, “for a lot of Norwegians, I think”

Next the band discussed their new record Glitterbug. On the creative process, they had this to say: “This was the first time we worked with a [producer] who was a similar age as us. It’s funny how if some one’s five years older than you, the music they grew up with can be so different. you can miss bands almost, can’t you?”

The band had some difficulty getting the album finished, revealing: “All the songs were ready to go at the beginning of the summer... it got delayed and delayed. It was worth waiting for.” The album, now completed, is set for release on Friday, April 3rd through Warner Music Australia
