China cites gains in bilateral consultation meeting with PH

China expects to work together with the Philippines in maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea, said Geng Shuang, a spokesman of China's Foreign Ministry, on Thursday at a press briefing held in Beijing. China and the Philippines convened the Fourth Meeting of the Bilateral Consultation Mechanism (BCM) on the South China Sea on Wednesday in Manila, Philippines. According to Geng, the two sides have exchanged views in an honest, friendly and constructive manner regarding the South China Sea situation, maritime activities and other issues of respective concerns. Fruitful results have been achieved, said Geng.
