In a big blow to the opposition, the election commission has now turned down their demand to tally the VVPATs with EVM before counting, the EC today decided that counting will go as per procedure which means that the 5 VVPATs which have be tallied will be matched after the counting is done. The election commission after holding a meet today on the opposition demand decided that the counting procedure will go as usual. The EC justified its decision by claiming that tallying the VVPATs will take at least 5-6 extra hours.
