Chinese female amputee’s live-stream inspires online community

Thirty-one-year-old Wei Meinü is up for anything – swimming, table tennis and skateboarding – despite having no legs. The origins of her disability are something of a mystery since Wei was found near a welfare home at age three with both her legs amputated. But after growing up in foster care, she has learned to take care of herself and has travelled across China live-streaming and interacting with Chinese netizens who are inspired by her story.
