U.S. State Department approves possible missile sale to S. Korea: DSCA

The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on Friday in a news release... that the State Department has approved the possible sale... of a 314 million US dollar weapons package to South Korea.
The agency said on its website that a notification has been sent to Congress... for the potential sale of SM-2 Block-3B missiles to Korea.
The agency added that the proposed sale will allow Washington... to meet the legitimate security and defense needs of one of its closest allies.
According to the news release,... Seoul had requested to buy 94 of these missiles... and asked for technical assistance, as well as logistical support.
