The CW Releases First Trailer for Ruby Rose's 'Batwoman' In the show, Rose will play Kate Kane, a cousin of Batman's Bruce Wayne. The program will be an origin story that sees Kane head to Gotham after leaving military school. But Batman has disappeared from Gotham, leading crime to run rampant once again. After discovering the bat cave, Kane steps in for her missing cousin to battle villains. She does so with the help of his batsuit and gadgets. Like Rose herself, Kane will be openly gay and must rescue an old ex-girlfriend who gets captured. She also becomes frustrated when Batman begins getting credit for her crime-fighting accomplishments. 'Batwoman' is slated to debut in the fall with an exact date not yet known.
