Clarke: Talks were last chance of producing a majority
  • 5 years ago
Father of the House of Commons Ken Clarke has said that the Brexit crisis has “hit a brick wall” and that cross-party talks with Labour were the last chance of producing a majority in parliament. The MP added that the current Conservative leadership election rumours are “an irrelevant sideshow” and thinks it is a “very great pity” that the hard-right of his party have devoted most of their efforts to “getting rid of a leader who they have treated dreadfully and abominably”.
