Trump signs executive order to effectively ban U.S. firms doing business with Huawei

U.S. President Donald Trump has just signed an executive order to protect U.S. companies over threats against American technology.
The White House on Wednesday said the move is to (quote)"protect America from foreign adversaries who are actively and increasingly creating and exploiting vulnerabilities in information and telecommunications technology infrastructure and services in the United States."
The executive order will effectively bar U.S. firms doing business with Chinese telecom company Huawei.
Meanwhile, President Trump is reportedly set to delay his decision whether to impose tariffs on imported cars for as long as six months.
Administration officials told Reuters on Wednesday... that President Trump will make a formal announcement on Saturday -- the original deadline for him to make the decision to impose tariffs of as much as 25 percent on imported cars and parts.
Reuters says the move may come as trade negotiations are in progress with the EU and Japan.
This comes after the U.S. Commerce Department summited its national security report to the White House, saying that such imports harmed U.S. national security.
