Conservative MP Charles Walker said The Jeremy Kyle Show has "run its course", and that the right decision for ITV would be to never bring it back again.
Mr Walker also added that putting vulnerable people on television is "cruel".
His comments follow the death of a guest who took part in a recording of the show.
