An RTI sought from SBI has revealed the whooping digits for the electoral bonds that have been sold in March and April alone in India. As per the RTI, electoral bonds worth Rs 3,600 Crores have been sold. In the last 2 months alone. As per the RTI response, SBI Kolkata branch alone sold bonds worth Rs 417 Crore while the Delhi branch sold bonds worth 408 Crore. The concept of electoral bonds has always been under fire over the anonymity of the donor and the whopping amount now released by the SBI only adds more fuel to that fire.
