A Movement to End Unpaid Internships at the UN

In 2015, David Hyde, an unpaid United Nations intern, was unable to complete his internship programme because he couldn't afford Geneva's high rents. He ended up living in a tent on the street. 67% of all unpaid UN interns come from high-income countries. Albert Barseghyan is of the Fair Internship Initiative-- an independent youth-led initiative that focuses on advocating for quality and accessible internships. He speaks about the network's small but successful progress in bringing change to internship reforms inside the UN.
