The French hostages who were kidnapped while on safari in northern Benin and freed in a high-risk mission have thanked the fallen soldiers and the French government for rescuing them.
They also told reporters after returning home on Saturday that the travel guidelines issued by the French government should be fully respected.
"We thank France, its army and intelligence services, for its professionalism and its humanity. We hope that all this violence will stop to give way to a more brotherly world that would finally try to understand each other."
The South Korean woman who was also held with them arrived in France, and is reportedly undergoing health inspections under the protection of the French military.
