Could Soon Rise up to 85% This is due to a new tariff the U.S. has placed on food imports from Mexico. Ongoing trade talks concerning tomatoes between the U.S. and Mexico have now lasted over a year. Should an agreement be made, the
U.S. Commerce Department says
tariff refunds may be issued. Secretary Wilbur Ross, via statement In the meantime, the tariffs could lead to price hikes of
around 40%. When it gets colder out, Americans may even see prices rise 85%. This is due to the U.S. having less of
its own suppliers around this
time of the year.
