WFP spokesperson says N. Koreans suffering from severe nutrition imbalance
  • 5 years ago
A majority of North Koreans are known to be suffering from nutritional imbalance, having access to eggs only two or three times a year.
That's according to James Belgrave, spokesperson for World Food Programme Pyeongyang liaison office,... who explained what he saw across the country as "very severe."
He told South Korea's Yonhap News Agency on Wednesday that he toured North Korea's 37 counties and spoke with the people.
The findings come as a UN food security assessment found the North is experiencing its worst harvest in a decade due to drought, heatwaves and flooding.
The report also said about ten-point-one million people are suffering from severe food shortages.
