15th Annual Taste of the Cowboys Event Tackles Hunger In North Texas
  • 5 years ago
North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) presented the 15th annual Taste of the Cowboys event at the Star in Frisco. Current Dallas Cowboy players and former legends, Chad Hennings, Preston Pearson, and DeMarcus Ware hosted the evening. The event featured past and present Dallas Cowboy players, Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, Dallas Cowboy Rhythm and Blue Dancers, and over 30 gourmet tailgate food stations from the trendiest restaurants in North Texas.

All proceeds will benefit the NTFB, which provides funds to support nutritional needs of one in four children in North Texas who are food insecure, and gives families in need access to nearly 190,000 nutritional meals every day. The Cowboys partnered up with NTFB and created the annual event to raise money and tackle hunger in the DFW metroplex.

Head coach, Jason Garrett, remarked on the impact of the yearly occurrence, “ I just think it is one of the best events we do. The best chefs in Dallas all donate their time and their expertise to come out here all in one venue. You walk around this thing and you get the best restaurants in Dallas. It is all for a great cause. The Dallas Cowboys partnership has been fantastic with players and coaches being here and it has been such a fun thing. I think the city of Dallas supports it as well. There are so many people who come here year after year for such a great cause. NTFB is off the charts with what they do in impacting people’s lives.”
