President Trump posted another tweet on impeachment.
President Trump on Monday suggested that Democrats see impeachment as their only path to a 2020 victory. "'Democrat Texas Congressman Al Green says impeachment is the only thing that can prevent President Trump from re-election in 2020.' @OANN In other words, Dems can't win the election fairly," Trump wrote in a series of tweets. "You can't impeach a president for creating the best economy in our country's history," Trump continued. "Also, there are 'No High Crimes & Misdemeanors,' No Collusion, No Conspiracy, No Obstruction. ALL THE CRIMES ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE, and that's what the Dems should be looking at, but they won't. Nevertheless, the tables are turning!" Notably, a recent Quinnipiac University poll showed that most Americans are not in favor of beginning impeachment proceedings at this time, but it also revealed that a majority don't agree that Trump has been cleared of wrongdoing. According to the poll, "American voters also say 54 - 42 percent that Trump 'attempted to derail or obstruct the investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 election.'" Trump has been forceful in his assertions to the contrary. He tweeted not long after the release of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia report: "Only high crimes and misdemeanors can lead to impeachment. There were no crimes by me (No Collusion, No Obstruction), so you can't impeach. It was the Democrats that committed the crimes, not your Republican President! Tables are finally turning on the Witch Hunt!"
