Jobs for Kannadigas: Pro-Kannada groups seek preference to locals over migrants

Several pro-Kannada organisations have begun a campaign demanding preference for locals in govt jobs in Karnataka. They are demanding the govt to give priority to locals over migrants in sectors like railways, banks and other jobs. Some have demanded conducting entrance exams for various departments in Kannada as well. Meanwhile, the campaign in Karnataka has drawn the attention of Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. HDK said that he would take the legal opinion in this matter and ensure the rights of Kannadigas.
