D'Angelo Russell Cited for Marijuana Possession at LaGuardia Airport The Nets guard was flagged by TSA
for what appeared to be a can of
Arizona Iced Tea in a checked bag. The can had a secret compartment where the marijuana was hidden. Russell was flying from LaGuardia Airport in New York to Louisville International Airport. The all-star received a court summons for marijuana possession of less than 50 grams, according to a Port Authority spokesperson. The violation is punishable
by a fine of $100 or less. Russell averaged 21.1 points per game and
7.0 assists per game for the Brooklyn Nets
this past season. He was a first-time all star while helping the Nets make the playoffs for the first time since 2015. The Nets were eliminated by the
Philadelphia 76ers 4-1 in the first round
of the Eastern Conference Playoffs.
