Cyclone Fani made a landfall in Puri on Odisha coast around 8 am, triggering heavy rainfall coupled with high velocity winds with speed of 175 kmph in vast areas. Cyclone Fani, the most severe storm since the super cyclone of 1999 that killed 10,000 people in Odisha, has started making its impact felt in the state, the weather office said. Cyclone Fani set to make landfall in Odisha's Puri this morning, the state administration moved 11 lakh people to safety and advised the people to remain indoors. The storm is set to affect Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. Fani cyclone hits Odisha but there is no influence of Fani cyclone in Karnataka. Chances of rain is less.

ಪ್ರಳಯಾಂತಕ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತ ಫೋನಿ ಒಡಿಶಾಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಒಡಿಶಾದ ಪುರಿ ಕರಾವಳಿಗೆ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತ ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಚಂಡಮಾರುತದಿಂದ 14 ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ 10 ಸಾವಿರ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ. 20 ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲೇ ಪ್ರಳಯಾಂತಕ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತ ಇದಾಗಿದೆ. ಫೋನಿ ಸೈಕ್ಲೋನ್ ಒಡಿಶಾಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸತೇನಲ್ಲ, ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಮುನ್ನವೂ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಈ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತ ಒಡಿಶಾಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿ 10 ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ ಸಾವಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಫೋನಿ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತವು ಒಡಿಶಾದ ಪುರಿಯಿಂದ ಕೇವಲ 65ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಒಡಿಶಾದಿಂದ 80 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.. ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 9.30ರ ಸುಮಾರಿಗೆ ಒಡಿಶಾ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವ ಸಾದ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ. ಫೋನಿ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತದಿಂದಾಗಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಒಳನಾಡಿನ ಹಲವು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರಿ ಮಳೆ ಸುರಿದಿತ್ತು. ಈಗ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತ ಒಡಿಶಾ ಕಡೆ ಹೋಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀವ್ರತೆ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
