Seven protesters, members of the organization called "Sunrise New York" were arrested after blocking the entrance to 780 3rd Avenue yesterday (April 30).

The building houses the federal offices of Senator Chuck Schumer in Manhattan.

The protesters were rallying to demand that Senator Schumer support the Green New Deal to fight climate change.

Other congressmen from New York including Senate Judiciary Committee Chairperson Jerry Nadler already have voiced support for this legislation.
