Hundreds Quarantined Due to Measles Exposure at California Universities CBS News reports that nearly 300 students and staff members at UCLA and Cal State LA are
under quarantine, including those
who cannot provide proof
they've been vaccinated. UCLA officials say a contagious student with measles attended class for three days. UCLA Officials, via statement Officials say the measures were taken "to build awareness among students, faculty and staff about the risks of measles after a potential exposure to measles." The quarantine can last anywhere from 24 hours to seven days. Measles cases in the US have surpassed the highest number on record since it was declared eliminated in 2000. The CDC has counted
695 cases in 22 states this year.
