Amazing flock of birds in V-shaped flight pattern

A flock of Demoiselle Cranes flies in V formation. Migrating birds fly in a V-formation to take advantage of the aerodynamic effects of flying behind another bird. Remarkably, birds take turns at the front despite no obvious benefit to the individual. The ones flying in V formation flapped their wings in phase so that the trailing bird could get an extra lift from the one that was ahead of it.
