Luke Walton Sued for
Sexual Assault by Sports
Reporter Kelli Tennant The lawsuit filed Monday alleges
that Walton assaulted Tennant in
a hotel room in Santa Monica. The alleged assault took place when Walton was an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors. Walton wrote the foreword of a book by Tennant, who worked as a reporter for Spectrum SportsNet and SportsNet LA. Tennant claims that when she arrived at
Walton's hotel to deliver the book,
he suddenly pinned her to the bed. Tennant alleges that Walton began forcing
kisses on her neck, face and chest. Tennant says that Walton continued to
harass her after he became head coach
of the Los Angeles Lakers. In May 2017, Walton allegedly greeted Tennant by uttering "vulgar, guttural sounds at her" and said, "mmmm ... you're killing me in that dress." Walton was dismissed by the Lakers
following the 2018-2019 season, but just days later he was hired as
head coach of the Sacramento Kings.
