Southeast Asia has become the world's dumping ground for plastic waste after China stopped accepting imports at the start of 2018. Residents in the Malaysian town of Jenjarom say many Chinese recyclers moved their businesses there, but dozens were suspected to be operating without proper permits, prompting a government crackdown.
