President Moon Jae-in has has appointed two new justices to the Constitutional Court -- Lee Mi-sun and Moon Hyung-bae,... despite strong protests from the opposition parties.
President Moon approved their appointments on Friday while in Uzbekistan.
Before leaving on his Central Asia tour,... he had asked the National Assembly to adopt reports on their confirmation hearings by Thursday's deadline.
Opposition parties have been criticizing Lee's nomination, in particular... because of her husband's massive stock speculation, which Lee claims she had no part in.
But the president can still appoint his nominees without parliament's consent.
