'Game of Thrones' Actor and Weightlifter Says He's Done Steroids Hafthor Julius Bjornsson can be seen as Gregor Clegane
or "The Mountain" on the smash-hit HBO show. He is also the reigning champion in the World's Strongest Man competition, technically making him the
"strongest man on earth." In a newly released interview from
2017, Bjornsson says he has taken
performance-enhancing drugs to
help him compete. Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, via ESPN The 30-year-old declined to say if he still uses them or how often he's taken steroids. Steroids are prohibited in the strongman competitions,
but they have still been connected to the sport. Bjornsson himself claims he's never failed a drug test during required times of administration. The 6"9 Icelandic native, who weighs
440 pounds, has played Clegane since season 4 of 'Game of Thrones' This June, he plans to defend his title at the
World's Strongest Man competition in Florida.
