The story is about Harish Raj and Nandini (Vishnuvardhan and Jayaprada) who give their heart and soul to give comfort to the lives of their three children. Time passes and when Harish retires, he summons all family and announces that he is penniless much to the shock of his children. They finally agree to take in Harish and Nandini but in different houses of each son and Harish agrees to this reluctantly on the word of Nandini. Trouble begins when he is ridiculed for small things and things become equally bad for Nandini too. However, they do not share their grief with each other until one day Nandini calls Harish to say that she cannot live like this separately from him. Harish rushes to Nandini and both of them find solace in the house of Kiran, an orphan who becomes a big business man with the support of the elderly couple. more
