President Trump on Monday slammed Nancy Pelosi on Twitter.
President Trump slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for defending Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar. "Before Nancy, who has lost all control of Congress and is getting nothing done, decides to defend her leader, Rep. Omar, she should look at the anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and ungrateful U.S. HATE statements Omar has made," Trump wrote in a Monday tweet. "She is out of control, except for her control of Nancy!" Notably, Pelosi recently addressed the spike in death threats Omar has received in the days since Trump tweeted a video that takes one of Omar's statements out of context and presents it as the Congresswoman making light of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The speaker said in a statement: "The President's words weigh a ton, and his hateful and inflammatory rhetoric creates real danger. President Trump must take down his disrespectful and dangerous video." Pelosi also noted that she has spoken with authorities "to ensure that Capitol Police are conducting a security assessment to safeguard Congresswoman Omar, her family and her staff."
