Steve Bannon weighs in on the 2020 presidential election.

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon recently told Politico that there will be "four years of…payback" if President Trump wins in 2020.  He also suggested that, given the Democratic candidate pool, a Trump 2020 victory is looking quite likely.  "Every other day I see another person jumping into the race. I think those people are rational and the people around them are rational. They must see something in the field that makes them feel like they can make a run...I don't see anybody in that field as of now who can take on Trump one-on-one," Bannon said.
He went on to note that if Trump wins a second term: "You're going to get pure Trump off the chain. Four years of Donald Trump in payback mode." Based on the president's comments, his targets could include those instrumental in the launch of the special counsel's investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign's possible cooperation with Russia in its attempts to influence the 2016 election.  "There are a lot of people out there that have done some very, very evil things, very bad things. I would say treasonous things against our country. I've been looking at them for a long time," Trump recently told reporters.
