Global financial stability risks still on rise: IMF
  • 5 years ago
The IMF is warning that risk to the financial system has grown over the past six months and could increase with a messy Brexit or an escalation of U.S.-China trade tensions.
According to a report released on Wednesday,... the IMF said an unstable financial market could deteriorate positive investor sentiment abruptly, leading to a sharp tightening of financial conditions.
There's also concern over rising corporate debt levels in the U.S.,... with the IMF saying corporate sector risks appear elevated in about 70 percent of systemically-important countries.
The IMF urged policymakers to clearly communicate any changes to their monetary policy stances to minimize market swings.
