RAWALPINDI: Former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur have arrived at an accountability court in Rawalpindi in connection with the hearing of the fake bank accounts case.

Accountability Judge Arshad Malik will take up the case shortly.

Special security arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident on the occasion of the appearance of the PPP leaders in the court. More than 1,500 security personnel, including those from Rangers, special branch and traffic, will be deployed around the court premises.

No unauthorised person would be allowed to enter the court during the hearing.

Such security arrangements have been made in light of skirmishes between the police and PPP workers at the NAB’s old headquarters in Rawalpindi where the former president and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had appeared to record their statement last month.
