ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತ ಹಾಗೂ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತ ಎರಡೂ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಗೆಲ್ಲಬಹುದು ಎಂಬ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ರಾಹುಲ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಅವರು ವಯನಾಡ್ ನಿಂದಲೂ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸುವ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೇರಳ ಅಥವಾ ತಮಿಳುನಾಡಿನಿಂದ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸುವ ಧೈರ್ಯ ಇದೆಯಾ ಎಂದು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನಾಯಕ ಶಶಿ ತರೂರ್ ಭಾನುವಾರ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
