The National Assembly has adopted a confirmation hearing report for President Moon Jae-in's pick for oceans minister, meaning his appointment goes ahead.

Although hearing reports are not mandatory to appoint cabinet ministers,... going ahead with their appointments without them would likely make political tensions worse.
