A Tokyo-based New Zealander filmed this pretty time-lapse of cherry blossoms in peak bloom on his way to work.

"Here’s a small gift from cherry blossom season in Tokyo. This is a time-lapse video of a 750m stretch of road lined with cherry blossoms in bloom. This is part of my regular jogging course from Toritsudaigaku Station heading south," wrote filmer Elliott.

The video, filmed on Thursday, captures Tokyo's beautiful pink-topped streets.

Tokyo cherry blossoms were forecast to hit their peak today (March 29).
