The South Korean government will be drawing up a supplementary budget to provide support for the city of Pohang, which was hit by an earthquake in late 2017.
Friday's decision came after a meeting between the presidential office, government and ruling party.
The government is expected to submit an extra budget bill to the National Assembly next month.
The bill will also include funds to fight the country's fine-dust air pollution.
