It's time now for an in-depth look at the market action today... and for the week.
For that I'm joined by Dr. Kim Sei-wan, Professor of Economics at Ewha Woman's University.
Thanks for making time this afternoon, Professor.
My pleasure.
It's Friday here, and the markets are closed in Korea. The KOSPI is just about even for the week.
There's still one more trading day in Europe and America, so we'll see what happens there.
But where do we stand here at the end of the week?
In Korea, we had a few shareholders meetings where investors voted on the board members of Korean Air -- a historic vote where the chairman was voted out -- and SK Group, where that did not happen. Run us through that story -- the National Pension Service was a major player here.
Now the U.S. and China are holding their trade talks -- a lot is riding on this meeting for both sides and for other markets in Asia. Stock markets are sensitive to this issue. What do you see coming out of these talks?
Professor Kim, we'll have to leave it there. Thanks for making time this afternoon.
Our market wrap-up for the week... something we'll be doing every Friday on this show.
