In the wake of tensions with President Trump, Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosselló told CNN that he would not stand for the White House's bullying. "If the bully gets close, I'll punch the bully in the mouth. It would be a mistake to confuse courtesy with courage," Rosselló stated. The comment follows reports that Trump, during a Tuesday closed-door meeting with Republican lawmakers, complained that Puerto Rico is getting too much money for Hurricane Maria relief efforts, notes the Washington Post. NBC News reports: "On Wednesday, White House Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere told NBC News that while Puerto Rico is on track to receive tens of billions of dollars in unprecedented aid, 'the Trump administration will not put taxpayers on the hook to correct a decades-old spending crisis that has left the island with deep-rooted economic problems.'"  According to Rosselló, White House officials are not providing accurate information.
