서울모토쇼 2019: 올해는 지속가능한, 지능화된 이동혁명 선보인다

The biennial Seoul Motor Show opens on Friday.
It'll run for ten days,... showcasing some revolutionary driving technologies.
Our Oh Soo-young has a sneak peek.
Accelerating towards a wireless, connected future with the latest in driving technology.
That's what this year's Seoul Motor Show is all about.
Among the seven world premieres at the motor show,... one of the most eye-catching models is-- without a doubt-- Hyundai's 8th Generation Sonata,... with its new 1.6 turbo and hybrid models unveiled on Thursday.
Beneath the Sonata's sleek angles and invisible chrome-like lights that dramatically come to life,... are a range of state-of-the-art features including an AI voice assistant developed by IT firm Kakao,... a smartphone key,... and personalised infotainment.
And the Sonata is partially self-driving, with Lane Following Assist technology to detect traffic lanes and the actions of the vehicles ahead.
"Speed and style no longer cut it here at the 10-day motor show.
To truly impress, a car has to be sustainable,... offer high speed connectivity and have smart mobility features."
The BMW's most popular 3 Series is also making waves with a bigger but sportier design and semi-automated functions.
But transporting us to the future of fully hands-free driverless cars,... a local auto developer takes visitors on a ride.
"You can start up the car with your voice or a gesture and lean back to enjoy the ride. Our fully driverless vehicle is optimised for the passenger, featuring six seats and the ability to host infotainment content."
The functional model offers a platform for IT companies to run their next-generation driving software,... which can be optimised for the super-fast 5G wireless network.
"We're developing road monitoring and updates to maps in real time, which was not possible before 5G. There are also infotainment services like navigation and music streaming based on individual users which continue seamlessly after passengers get out of the vehicle."

The exhibition reflects how the line is blurring between the auto and tech industries.
"There have been various new models, electric and hybrid cars launching recently so we have premieres scheduled, but going beyond that, we're displaying models with cutting-edge software, parts and technology."
The Seoul Motor Show runs till April 7th,... with a total of 39 new models in the line-up.
