Local researchers have found a way to predict colorectal cancer by analyzing DNA from stool samples.
A team from Yonsei University's Severance Hospital says its analysis of stool from some 600 patients yielded a prediction rate of 90 percent.
This came regardless of their age, gender or the stage of any tumors.
Prediction rates before had been at around 50 percent.
But the researchers said it only applies to colon cancer and cannot be used to diagnose liver or stomach cancer.
