Anti-racism campaigner calls for stricter punishments
  • 5 years ago
Anti-racism campaigner Piara Powar has called on football authorities to take a stricter line on countries whose fans racially abuse players. The director of the FARE Network said he believed “repeat offenders” should have points deducted in qualifying campaigns. He went on to praise England manager Gareth Southgate and young black players Raheem Sterling and Callum Hudson-Odoi for speaking up after members of the England team were allegedly abused in Montenegro during their match on Monday night.
