Trump announces reversal of new U.S. sanctions on N. Korea

Our top story this evening.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he is reversing Washington's decision to impose new sanctions on North Korea.
But there seems to be...ambiguity on which sanctions he is referring to.
Kim Da-mi reports.
U.S. President Donald Trump ordered the withdrawal of new sanctions on North Korea on Friday.
In his latest tweet, Trump wrote that he had ordered the withdrawal of additional "large-scale" sanctions... that had been decided on by the U.S. Treasury Department.
His statement at first seemed to refer to sanctions announced on Thursday,... which targets two Chinese shipping companies suspected of helping North Korea evade sanctions.
The decision was the first U.S. measure on North Korea... since the Hanoi summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
The White House has not confirmed anything yet,... but press secretary Sarah Sanders said to reporters that Trump "likes" Chairman Kim and he doesn't think these sanctions will be necessary.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that the announcement was referring to a decision to not go forward with additional large-scale sanctions on North Korea at this time, citing a U.S. administration source familiar with the matter.
This implies that another round of sanctions against North Korea was on its way.
Now there are speculations that this may have been related to North Korea pulling its officials from an inter-Korean liaison office... in its border city of Gaesong on Friday
But it is yet unclear whether Trump's decision was related to the North's abrupt decision.

In regards to this,... Eliot Engel, Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs... stated that there is no reason to remove the sanctions, without North Korea making any progress on denuclearization and human rights issues.
He also condemned President Trump, saying that his relationship with the North Korean leader certainly does not justify his decision.
