EU conditionally backs Brexit delay until May 22
  • 5 years ago
The European Council has published a draft agreeing to delay Brexit until May 22nd after a summit in Brussels.
However, the extension is on the condition that Prime Minister Theresa May's withdrawal agreement is agreed by British parliament first.
The vote on the divorce deal is expected to take place next week, however looks unlikely to be passed.
If MPs reject it again, then the UK may crash out of the EU without a deal.
