Wendy Williams is finally revealing the truth behind her bizarre behavior and mysterious health crisis.
On Tuesday, March 19, the Wendy Williams Show host broke down onstage, telling her viewers and fans that she’s been receiving treatment for her addiction issues.
“Welcome back. So, you know me for being a very open and truthful person,” she started before dropping the bombshell.
“I’ve got more to the story for you. The truth — oh, um, you know Kevin and I have the Hunter Foundation for the good of the people. And we recently launched our 888-5 hunter number for those of you caught up in the struggle of addiction,” continued Williams, 54. “Well, for some time now and even today and beyond I have been living in a sober house.”
As RadarOnline.com readers know, the star had been scaring fans with her wild behavior for months. After fainting on live TV on Halloween, she began slurring her words during talks on her show. She blamed her actions on a shoulder fracture and pain meds, but eventually took a more than two-month work hiatus — which she blamed on her thyroid issues.

I was a mess… killing myself. I realized I am a walking addict. You can’t just clean it up and stop it. I wasted a lot of my life burning my insides. You never know when it can pop up. I constantly have to watch the inside of my body because of hard partying, just a mess.”
Days later, she announced the launch of her new substance abuse hotline.
“After I go to the pilates, I go to several meetings all around town in the Tri-state area. And I see my brothers and sisters caught up in their addiction and looking for help. They don’t know I’m Wendy. They don’t care I’m Wendy. There’s no autographs, there is no nothing. It’s the brothers and sisters caught up in the struggle. It’s been really interesting. This ride,” Williams continued this Tuesday, speaking to a stunned audience.

Kevin Hunter, and sleeping in a sober house with other recovering addicts. As she continues treatment, she has a coach available to her all day every day.
“Only Kevin and Kevin have known about this. Not my parents, nobody. Nobody knew. Because I look so glamorous out here,” she admitted. “After I finished my appointments, seeing my brothers and sisters, breaking bread, I am driven by my 24-hour sober coach back to the home that I live in here in the Tri-state with a bunch of smelly boys who have become my family.”
She said the men watch soccer on the TV and she just goes off to her room to sleep. Lights are out and doors are locked at 10:00 p.m. every night.
“So I go to my room, and I stare at the ceiling and I fall asleep to wake up and come back here to see you. So that is my truth,” said Williams to a cheering audience.
