Gyeongsangnam-do Province governor attends appeals hearing over Druking scandal

On Tuesday, Gyeongsangnam-do Province Governor Kim Kyoung-soo attended the first appeals hearing related to his conviction in the online opinion-rigging case.
He was sentenced in late January to two years in prison for colluding with a power blogger known as "Druking" to manipulate online news comments ahead of the 2017 presidential election.
Kim requested bail,... claiming that he needs to return to his duties as a sitting governor and that he poses no flight risk and will not destroy evidence.
The court is expected to announce whether it will grant him bail in his second hearing set for April 11th.
