रविवार को चेपक स्टेडियम पर चेन्नई की टीम की प्रैक्टिस के दौरान धोनी का एक फैन उनसे मिलने को मैदान पर आ धमका. बीच मैदान अपने फैन को देखकर धोनी ने भी उसके साथ थोड़ा मजा लेना चाहा. धोनी आसानी से उसके हाथ आने के बजाए इधर-उधर भागने लगे. अब आलम ये था कि धोनी आगे-आगे और उनका फैन पीछे-पीछे. इसी बीच दोनों के बीच चेन्नई टीम के बॉलिंग कोच लक्ष्मीपति बालाजी आ गए. धोनी उनकी टी-शर्ट पकड़कर फैन से बचने के लिए उन्हें घूमाते रहे. जब इससे भी बात नहीं बनी तो धोनी थोड़ा और भागे. हालांकि, अंत में धोनी से मिलने आए फैन को टीम के सपोर्ट स्टाफ ने पकड़कर काबू में किया, तब जाकर धोनी उससे मिले.
