Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called out the online radicalization of white supremacists after the Friday mass shooting at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.  "White supremacists, like many extremists, get radicalized online. There is a well-documented digital rabbithole that young men fall into: they often go in frustrated young people & come out w/a formed hateful ideology," she wrote in a tweet. "We have a responsibility to understand how white supremacy + online radicalization works, because it is impacting our entire society," Ocasio-Cortez also commented. "President Trump defunded Federal programs designed to fight the spread of white supremacist hate groups."  Brenton Tarrant, the suspect taken into police custody in connection with one of the attacks, livestreamed the shooting which claimed 49 lives.  He also published a manifesto online.  News.com.au reports that in it, Tarrant referred to himself as "just a regular White man" from a "working class, low-income family...who decided to take a stand to ensure a future for my people."
