David Bowie's 'Starman'
Demo Fetches
$61K at Auction The collection sold
to an undisclosed buyer
at Omega Auctions in the U.K. It contained one
of the first recorded
versions of the hit song. It also contains early
versions of "Moonage
Daydream' and "Hang
Onto Yourself." The tape recording was
made in 1971 by Bowie
with his "Spiders From
Mars" guitarist Mick Ronson. The demo ends with the
rock icon telling Ronson
